In the Marvel Comics Thor series, Loki tricked Sigyn into marrying him by killing her fiance and taking his place at the wedding. He revealed his true identity after they were wed, and because Sigyn chose to accept her duty as his wife anyway, Odin made her the goddess of fidelity.
This is my cosplay of Sigyn that I debuted at Katsucon 2014! A friend of mine on facebook remarked that with how popular Loki has become with the recent Marvel movies she was surprised that more people did not cosplay as his wife, Sigyn, since she does appear in some of the older comics. So, for me that was a "Challenge accepted." moment, lol. When I looked up her original design, I decided that it could use a little updating (after all, they did that for the movie characters!), so I created my own design in which I tried to evoke the aesthetic of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. I hope I did ok! XD
For this costume I made everything except the corset, boots, and jewelry. All of the armor is made from Worbla. What was really nice was that I had most of the materials already, so the costume came together pretty quickly. Photography was done by Coolsteel27 Photography.
